Primary research
The pre-production for the advert was good primary research as it allowed us to know which actors we were working with and if there were any risks that we could make aware to our actors. we also would have removed any risks from the proximity in which we were filming.
The primary research for the documentary task was good as we could explore the room in which we wanted to film and gain potential ideas for where in the room we could film and how we could take advantage of the rooms set up. we also typed up our questionnaire and emailed that to several people via survey monkey in hopes of a response so we could add statistics to the documentary. unfortunately we got very minimal responses and too late.
This is a questionnaire I conducted and is a source of primary research, this is a good research as I analysed all data available and suggested ways I could use this data to improve the product I was working on.
Secondary Research
When researching into Unilever, I got to learn about their policies and ethics/morals. This ultimately help decide which direction the advert would go in as we wanted to stick to their policies in respect of the company. it also allowed us to see the wide range of products available for us to choose for our advert.
This allowed me to see typical conventions used within adverts and how I could use these conventions along with camera techniques within my own advert.
